What is Asakusa Rockza?
Asakusa Rockza is a classic Japanese strip show with a burlesque twist. It’s part dance, part theater, and definitely not what you’d expect from your typical strip club.
Like the name says, it’s located in Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s oldest neighborhoods, known for its temples and traditional vibes. Right in the middle of all that, you’ll find this bold, adult-only theater.
It’s more of a show rather than the typical strip club. The performances are sensual but also artistic, and they rotate every couple of weeks with new dancers and new themes.
If you’re lucky (or time it right), you might catch a show featuring one or more AV stars. Those shows are a little pricier, but you’ll see why once you’re inside.
Before we went, we honestly weren’t sure what to expect. But Asakusa Rockza feels much more like a theater than a strip club. There’s a clear schedule, structured performances, and a respectful audience.
No one is shouting, touching, or acting drunk. If you’re picturing something chaotic or uncomfortable, this isn’t that.

What Is a Burlesque Show, and How Is It Different at Rockza?
Burlesque is a style of performance that combines dance, striptease, and theatrical storytelling.
It’s more about the art of teasing than just undressing, with playful characters, elaborate costumes, and themed acts that often mix humor with seduction.
At Asakusa Rockza, burlesque is more Japanese. The dancers perform choreographed routines set to music, and every act has a theme: sometimes traditional, sometimes modern. You might see a graceful kimono dance one minute and a bold, fantasy-inspired act the next.
It’s entertaining and artistic. Each show feels curated, and some of the performers are even professional AV actresses, which adds a unique flair to the lineup.
Asakusa Rockza Location and Opening Hours
Asakusa Rockza is right in the heart of Asakusa. It’s super easy to find, just across from Asakusa Uniqlo.
If you’re coming by train, it’s only a short walk from Asakusa Station.
The theater runs daily, and shows are usually scheduled throughout the day starting from early afternoon into the night. It’s best to check the latest times on-site, especially if you’re hoping to catch a specific performer or theme.
How Much Does Asakusa Rockza Cost?
As of early 2026, ticket prices at Asakusa Rockza are posted at the entrance and depend on who’s attending. Prices are cash only, so be sure to bring enough yen with you.
- Adult (men): ¥6,000
- Adult (women): ¥5,000
- Students: ¥4,000 (with valid ID)
- Seniors (65+): ¥4,000
Pricing can still change depending on special lineups or featured performers, but these are the standard rates currently displayed at the theater.
They used to offer discounts for couples or late shows, but we didn’t see any current promotions posted during our most recent visit.

What Do You Actually See at Asakusa Rockza?
The show runs just under 2 hours and features up to 10 different performances, each with its own theme and vibe. There’s a short intermission halfway through so you can take a breather or grab a quick drink.
Once you enter, you’re free to choose your seat. There’s a circular stage in the center, with seating wrapped around it. Seats are first come, first served, and closer seats give you a much better view.
Each act is set to music and tells its own story. The dancers begin with a themed song and slowly build toward a dramatic finish.
You’ll see everything from graceful ballet to playful school scenes and bold hip-hop dances. Every dancer ends their routine at the round center stage, and full nudity is part of the show.
The cast rotates every two weeks, and sometimes includes famous adult film stars (AV idols), which adds to the excitement. The audience is lively but respectful, clapping along and tossing colorful ribbons into the air during key moments.
It’s sexy, artistic, and fun to watch.
Who Can Enter and Is This Show for Me?
Anyone over 18 is allowed at Asakusa Rockza, and the vibe inside is a lot more relaxed and inclusive than you might expect.
Whether you’re going solo, planning a cheeky date night, or visiting with friends for something different, this show can absolutely be part of your Tokyo adventure.
The audience is usually a mix: about 1/3 women and 2/3 men, and everyone’s there to enjoy the performances, not act weird.
So my ladies out there, don’t be afraid to go in.
Still unsure? Here’s who usually enjoys Asakusa Rockza:
- Couples: Yes, might be a really cool date idea. We went together, and it felt pretty fun.
- Women: Totally fine. The audience is mixed, and the vibe is respectful.
- Solo travelers: Common and comfortable, especially for afternoon shows.
- First-timers: A good intro since it’s structured and theatrical.
You might want to skip this if:
- You’re expecting a loud, party-style strip club
- Full nudity makes you uncomfortable
- Cigarette smoke bothers you during intermission

Asakusa Rockza Review: Did We Have Fun?
We finally went after walking past it so many times and hearing people talk about it. This was back when they still offered a couple’s discount, so we figured we needed to try.
We showed up about 20 minutes before the first show. The front row seats were already taken, but we still got a good spot near the center ring.
Watching as a couple was actually fun. It wasn’t awkward at all, and we both enjoyed it. What really stood out to me was the storytelling behind each performance. That’s what made it extra enjoyable for me.
Pros
Artistic full nudity: You get to see everything. It’s bold, but done in an artistic way. Nothing felt sleazy or uncomfortable.
Organized and respectful: The entire show runs smoothly. There’s structure, timing, and the audience respects the performers. No weird vibes.
Great variety and energy: Performers rotate often, sometimes featuring AV stars, so the lineup stays fresh and entertaining.
Cons
Smoking allowed: People are allowed to smoke in the rest area during intermission. If that bothers you, stay in your seat.
Price has gone up: It’s more expensive now than when we went, so if you’re thinking about it, go before prices rise again.
Tips to Enjoy Your Show at Rockza Asakusa
Want the best experience? Here’s how to make the most of your time at Rockza.
Try to grab a seat along the circular stage. The closer you are, the better the view you get. Seats fill fast, so come early if you want a front-row spot.
Keep your phone away during the show. Absolutely no photos. Staff will come over if they see it out. It’s all about protecting the dancers, and the show is better without screens. If you really need to check something, step outside to the lobby.
Respect is everything here. The crowd is quiet and attentive, clapping after each set and cheering with the streamers. Don’t try to talk to or touch the dancers, just sit back, watch the story unfold, and enjoy the performance.
At the end, you can pick up a photobook or some official pictures if you want a souvenir. It’s a nice little way to remember the show.

Yes. The audience is mixed, and the atmosphere is respectful. Plenty of women attend alone, with friends, or as part of a couple.
