When you run a travel blog that’s already bringing in readers, the next step is turning those casual visitors into a loyal audience you can reach anytime.

We’d seen how well quizzes work for other creators: they’re interactive, personal, and give people something fun in exchange for their contact information. So when we heard about Interact Quiz Maker, we decided to give it a try.

This was our first time creating any kind of quiz, and we wanted to use it for something that fits our brand perfectly: helping travelers get their own custom Japan itinerary.

In this review, we’ll share exactly how we used Interact, the pros and cons we found along the way, and what you should know before using it for your own blog.

Why Quizzes Work for Building an Email List for Bloggers

Let’s be honest: nowadays, no one is handing over their email with “subscribe to our email newsletter”.

Travelers especially want something useful, personal, and worth the space in their inbox. That is where quizzes stand out for us.

A good quiz is not just fun. It is a personalized experience. In our case, it is like saying, “Tell us how you travel, and we will tell you your perfect Japan itinerary.”

The more relevant the result, the more likely someone is to stick around and keep engaging with your content.

For bloggers, quizzes are one of the most effective lead generation tools because they:

  • Give instant value in exchange for an email.
  • Feel personalized because results are based on individual preferences, not one-size-fits-all advice.
  • Naturally promote your content or products without a hard sell.

For us, this was not just about growing our list. It was about giving future travelers a reason to connect with us before they even set foot in Japan.

Here’s the quiz we created and you can try it yourself:

What is Interact?

Interact is an online platform that lets you create your own interactive quizzes. You can set them up as standalone pages, pop-ups, or embed them directly on your website.

For us, this meant we could build a quiz that lives right on our travel blog and feels like a natural part of the reader experience.

Instead of sending people to a generic sign-up form, they can take a short quiz, get a result that matches their travel style, and instantly see how it connects to our Japan itineraries.

Interact is designed to be user-friendly, even if you are not a tech expert. You can create your quiz, set up your results, and connect it to your email marketing platform so that every quiz taker becomes part of your audience.

How Does Interact Work?

Getting started with Interact is simple. You sign up, create your quiz, and link each answer to a specific result. Once that is done, you can publish it as a standalone page, add it as a pop-up, or embed it directly into your site.

You can also choose what happens after someone completes the quiz. You might redirect them to a custom results page, send their results directly by email, or integrate the quiz with your email marketing platform so their answers trigger specific follow-up sequences.

The platform itself is easy to navigate, but the real work happens before you even start building. You need to know what kind of quiz you want, what outcomes you will offer, and how you plan to use it.

For our travel blog, we created a “Custom Japan Itinerary Generator” quiz. Most of our effort went into designing the itineraries for each traveler type we had in mind and setting up the pages and email sequences that deliver the results.

Once that groundwork was done, the quiz building process was quick.

What We Were Looking for in a Quiz Maker

Ease of use was at the top of our list. We wanted something that we could figure out quickly without spending days learning new software.

The ability to redirect was also important. We needed quiz takers to land on a custom results page we designed, not just a generic screen.

Smooth integration with WordPress was also a non-negotiable. The quiz had to fit seamlessly into our existing site without slowing anything down.

Finally, it had to connect with our email marketing tool, Kit. This way we could automatically tag quiz takers and send them follow-up emails based on their answers.

Interact met all of these requirements, which made it worth moving forward.

Initial Impression and Our First-Time Experience

Signing up for Interact was super quick and straightforward. Within minutes we were inside the dashboard, ready to start building.

Creating the quiz itself was not the hard part.

The bigger challenge was deciding on the results, (in our case, the traveler types) and then building custom Japan itinerary pages for each one.

We started by defining the traveler types, built out full itinerary pages for each, and then worked backwards to create quiz questions that would match people to the right result.

Linking each answer to its corresponding result took a little trial and error, but once we understood the system it was easy to repeat.

We also tested Interact’s built-in AI quiz generator. It is a nice option if you have a clear idea of your topic. Like most AI tools, the better your input, the better your output.

How Much Does Interact Cost?

Interact offers 3 pricing tiers: Lite at $39 per month, Growth at $89 per month, and Pro at $209 per month. If you choose the annual plan, you can save up to 40%, bringing the prices down to $27, $53, and $125 per month.

The main differences between plans come down to how many quizzes you can create and how many email leads you can capture. This matters because the more leads you collect, the more opportunities you have to connect with people who are already interested in your brand.

Every plan also includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, which makes it easy to test the platform before committing.

While the cost might not be for everyone, we have found the reliability and integrations worth the investment.

Interact Quiz Maker Honest Review

Overall, our experience with Interact has been great. It is easy to use, offers enough customization to fit our branding, and integrates seamlessly with our email marketing tool.

What We Liked

Ease of use: The interface is intuitive and beginner-friendly, which meant we could focus on our quiz content instead of figuring out how the software works.

Brand customization: We could choose fonts from Google Fonts and Adobe Typekit, which made it easy to keep everything consistent with our travel blog design. Color options were just as flexible, allowing us to match quiz backgrounds, progress bars, and buttons to our brand palette.

Email integration with Kit: Not only could we tag each quiz result group, but we could also tag based on individual answers. This meant we could follow up with more specific travel recommendations tailored to each person’s quiz responses.

Flexibility in publishing: Interact gives you multiple ways to share your quiz. You can embed it directly into WordPress, set it up as a pop-up, or keep it as a standalone page. It is easy to adapt depending on whether you want people to take the quiz while browsing your blog or share it as a direct link.

What We Felt Could Improve

Quiz interface design: While Interact’s landing pages are modern and attractive, the quiz interface itself feels slightly dated compared to the rest of the platform.

Image library limitations: The built-in image library is powered by Unsplash and Giphy, which works well for general topics. However, for very specific visuals (like a photo of fugu, the Japanese blowfish) we needed to upload our own images or find them elsewhere.

Font selection: While the Google Fonts integration is great, it does not include the full library. The exact font we use for our brand was not available.

Conclusion

Interact has become a valuable tool for our travel blog, helping us turn our readers and travelers into engaged subscribers with something more personal than a standard sign-up form.

It is easy to use, flexible in how it can be shared, and integrates seamlessly with the tools we already rely on.

It is not perfect. The interface could be fresher, the image library is limited for niche topics, and the font selection is not exhaustive. But these are small trade-offs for its customization, reliability, and lead generation power.

If you are a blogger looking to grow your email list with something interactive and on-brand, Interact is worth a try!
